MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital is South Carolina’s only children’s hospital recognized by U.S. News & World Report — earning national rankings in six specialties: Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Cancer, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Nephrology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery.

In addition, our hospital is verified as a Level I Children’s Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the highest distinction for pediatric surgical care. These honors reflect our commitment to providing every child and family with the safest, most advanced, and most compassionate care possible.

MUSC Children's Health pediatric nephrology program is ranked No. 26 nationally in the 2025–2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. As the largest pediatric nephrology program in South Carolina, MUSC Children’s Health continues to lead in providing expert care for children with kidney disorders.

We’re bringing techniques typically found only at the biggest, most innovative centers. As the only center in South Carolina providing transplant, ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and certain types of dialysis for NICU babies, we are truly at the forefront of care.
